Access to information has become a critical determinant of educational opportunity and social inclusion. While technology has expanded access, disparities persist in infrastructure, connectivity, devices and digital skills. School libraries serve as gateways to equitable access to knowledge and digital learning for all learners.
NEP 2020 emphasises effective integration of technology with equitable, inclusive access. Libraries facilitate access to digital libraries, e‑books, databases and Open Educational Resources, and are evolving into facilitators of digital knowledge services through online catalogues, repositories, virtual reference and remote access — while bridging the digital divide with devices, connectivity, assistive technologies and accessible formats.
