About National Conference on School Libraries (NCSL)

The National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) is organizing a Two-Day National Conference on School Libraries on 11–12 November 2025 at its headquarter in New Delhi. This national-level academic event will bring together educators, librarians, researchers, policymakers, and education technology experts from across India to deliberate on the critical role of school libraries in actualizing the transformative vision of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.

Objectives of the Conference

  • To provide a platform to share the best practices of school librarianship
  • To exchange concerns and challenges in housekeeping operationsof school libraries
  • To present and discuss the importance of ICT implementation and modernisation of infrastructure in school libraries
  • To present adoption of innovative activities in school libraries to enhance reading habit among school children
  • To encourage school librarians to share their experiences in usingICT tools
  • To map school libraries with NEP-2020 and NCFSE 2023

Outcome of the Conference

School librarians and other Library professionals will be enlightened with the learning experience of the conference in their routine library management along with enhancement in quality library services for increase user satisfaction. The outcomes of the conference will provide insights into NEP 2020 and NCFSE 2023 being aligned in the field of school libraries. The product in the form of a book of papers will serve as a guideline for library professionals and stakeholders of education.

Participants

School Librarians/ Library In-charges from all over India who have contributed papers are welcome to attend the conference. NCERT will pay TA/DA (Subject to deputation of the schools of the concerned participants) as per NCERT norms to the selected participants based on acceptance of paper for presentation and publication.
